Signal Control Cabinet Replacement - 2015 Bond Project

Your Bond Dollars At Work!

Beginning April 10-May 9 (weather dependent), traffic signal control cabinets will be replaced at several locations on multiple roadways throughout Rowlett as we upgrade those utilizing older technology. These control cabinets serve as the “brain” for the traffic signal operation. Part of the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS), this is a project funded in the 2015 Bond.

In an effort to mitigate congestion during peak traffic hours, work each day will take place from approximately 9am-4pm. During the cabinet switch out, the intersections will function as a four-way stop, either in a red flashing mode or with temporary stop signs when there is no power to the cabinet.

Message boards will be installed by the Streets Division along the primary roadway several days prior to beginning work at each signal to notify the traveling public.
