Debby Bobbitt, City Council, Place 4, was elected in May of 2013. Debby has been a resident of Rowlett since 1996 and a very active member of our community. Debby has been married to her husband, Michael for 35 years; they enjoy their lives with their six grandchildren.
Debby has served on many boards for the city including the Environmental Services Board, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Bond Committee, and the Special Events Committee. She was a member of the DART Design Team for the DART Rail Station now in Rowlett. Debby also serves as a member of the Lions Club, as a member of the Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and occasionally assists and plays roles in ACTOR (Amateur Community Theatre for Rowlett), a local theatre. Debby served as the Election Judge for her precinct, Precinct 2529 for several previous elections. She loves working in the public sector and finds it a wonderful way to give back to the citizens of Rowlett.
Debby currently serves as a liaison to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the Special Events Committee and the Traffic and Safety Advisory Committee. She serves on the Rockwall County Open Space Alliance, the Rockwall County Emergency Services Board, and represents Rowlett on the Legislative Board of the North Texas Crime Commission. Debby is an active participant with TEX-21, which strives to improve and provide strategies and legislation, for our Texas Transportation Infrastructure by increasing public awareness of various types of transportation needs in all areas of Texas and beyond.
