Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program (CDBG)
Please note that due to the length of the current waitlist and anticipated future funding levels, it is unlikely that the City will be able to address any additional home rehabilitation applications until the year 2020. We continue to encourage requests for Emergency Repairs and Accessibility Improvements. These projects take priority over the standard rehabilitation waitlist as long as funding is available. Please refer back to this website for additional updates regarding the application process.
The Owner Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program is administered through the City's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and is intended to help low-income homeowners make necessary repairs and ensure compliance with health and safety codes. Eligible families may receive up to $24,999 in assistance in the form of an eighteen (18) month forgivable loan. Grants may be awarded for projects under $2,000.00.
It should be noted that this is not a home renovation program. Repairs that are considered solely aesthetic in nature will not be considered eligible.

Please note that applications will be evaluated on a first come, first serve basis and will be approved or denied in light of the program’s requirements and objectives. Unless the requested repairs are considered an emergency, please allow up to a 10 day initial review time before receiving feedback on your application. After an application is deemed qualified the timing for repairs can vary greatly depending on City Staff's workload and how many other qualified applications were submitted before yours. Additional documentation may be requested at Staff’s discretion after reviewing your application.
Please understand that a City Staff member familiar with the CDBG program may not be immediately available to assist you when you pick up or submit your application.
