The Community Services Division provides a wide range of specialists to assist our citizens in matters of community interest. Our division encompasses:
  • Animal Services primary function is to promote animal safety through responsible pet ownership education. 
  • Code Enforcement works with residents, neighborhood associations, public service agencies and other City departments to facilitate voluntary compliance with City laws and codes.
  • Community Services Officer is active in numerous crime prevention programs to promote greater safety for our citizens.
  • Health Services Employs an Environmental Health Specialist who is in charge of all food service inspections for schools, day care facilities, convenience stores, grocery stores, restaurants and mobile vendor vehicles.
  • School Resource Officers (SROs) are active members of the Rowlett Police Department who are assigned to the elementary, middle and high schools in Rowlett to mentor and counsel students while ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • School Crossing Guards primary responsibility is to help children safely cross the street as they walk or bicycle to and from school.
  • Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) are citizens who have come together to help promote safety and cleanliness in our neighborhoods.
