Municipal Court

The Municipal Court office will be closed on Monday, September 21 from 9:30am to 3:30pm for staff training.  Please contact the court via email at if you need to contact the court staff during this time.

The Rowlett Municipal Court has re-opened to public access.  However, the court will continue to schedule virtual court appearances using online video conferencing.

The Municipal Court has been and will continue to be actively processing cases. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Municipal Court delayed processing of warrants for non-appearance for Class C misdemeanors for the past several months. That delay is over. The warrant process is now resuming. Persons receiving a notice to appear, whether in-person or virtual, must appear.

Those who are at higher risk for severe illness because of age or a serious underlying medical condition must contact the court office for an alternative to appearing in person. Those who are scheduled for a virtual court appearance, but do not have access to a device capable of using the Zoom video conferencing app, must contact the court office.
