Rowlett Public Library

Open Book

The Library will re-open to the public starting Tuesday, May 26th!

Patrons will be allowed to browse the collection in person from 2:00 to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday.

Please note that computers, printing, and photocopying will NOT be available and we will limit library visits to 30 minutes with a maximum of 25 patrons in the Library.

A mask worn over the nose and mouth is required in the Library and staff will provide a disposable mask if you do not have one.

Fines and fees have temporarily been waived from accounts and the Library will not accept payments or donations at this time.

If you’re not ready to go into public buildings yet, the Library will still be able to accommodate you with a continuation of Curbside Checkout.

Pickup hours have been shortened to 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday – Saturday so that staff can focus on each group of patrons who wish to enjoy the Library’s offerings. You can request items 2 ways – log into your account on the Library catalog and place a hold request for items to check out, or complete the request form.  We’ll give you a call when your items are collected and bagged.  Let us know when you arrive at the Library (or call before you leave) and staff will bring your goodies out to you.

The Library is also offering temporary digital access library cards. To get a card, call the library at 972-412-6161 or fill out our online form. If you use the online form, a member of staff will email you a library card number within 24 hours. Digital cards are good for all of our online resources, and will expire after 3 months. Once they’ve expired, you’ll need to come in and get a regular library card.
