Rowlett Public Library

Wonder Woman advocating for library card sign-ups in September

It's Library Card Sign-Up Month!  Explore fun opportunities for cardholders.

The Library is open for a limited number of hours each day.

A mask worn over the nose and mouth is required in the Library for persons age 2 and over and staff will provide a disposable mask if you do not have one.

The Library is reinstating normal checkouts along with fines and fees:

  • 9/17/2020 – The Library resumes charging fines for late returns and fees for damaged or missing items. Late fees will not be assessed while items are in quarantine.
  • 9/17/2020 – The Library resumes loaning fiction DVD's for 1 week and all other items for 3 weeks.
  • 10/17/2020 – The Library resumes blocking accounts with fines or fees over $5.00. Blocked accounts cannot check out items, use online resources, or use public computers.

Public Computers are not available, but patrons can print items through the PrinterOn app on their smartphone.

Library visits are limited to 30 minutes

Curbside Checkouts

If you’re not ready to go into public buildings yet, the Library will still be able to accommodate you with a continuation of Curbside Checkout any time the Library is open.

To initiate curbside checkout, log into your account on the Library catalog and place a hold request for items to check out.  We’ll notify you when your items are collected.

Let us know when you arrive at the Library (or call before you leave) and staff will bring your goodies out to you.

Digital Access Library Cards

The Library is also offering temporary digital access library cards. To get a card, call the library at 972-412-6161 or fill out our online form. If you use the online form, a member of staff will email you a library card number within 24 hours. Digital cards are good for all of our online resources, and will expire after 3 months. Once they’ve expired, you’ll need to come in and get a regular library card.

Library Services

If you have a question, Ask a Librarian. Library staff is here to help. A Rowlett Public Library card provides access to over 50 TexShare databases. And even when our doors are closed, you can join our Online Book Club.
