September Spirit of Rowlett Award

Rob Rose being interviewed

The City of Rowlett Neighborhood Life Office is excited to announce Rob Rose as the September recipient of the Spirit of Rowlett Award! This award is to publicly recognize ordinary residents doing extra-ordinary things in our community, and they’re nominated by YOU – the citizens of Rowlett.

Rob Rose is a true advocate for the City of Rowlett! A 36-year resident, he makes it a priority to stay involved with his City. Always up to date on City news and information, Rob started the Rowlett Baby Boomer's page on Facebook in an effort to help others stay informed as well.  Not content to just share his knowledge and talents online, Rob is also the Senior Advisory Board Chairperson. And, because he’s not busy enough with all of that, Rob is a strong proponent of DART and often explores the Metroplex so he can provide others information and tips about getting the most out of our public transportation system here in Rowlett.

But Rob’s community service doesn’t stop there. He attended the first Rowlett City Academy, and has attained Tri-Academy Alumni status having graduated from both the Fire and Police Academies as well.  This year, he has served on the Rowlett Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee. Rob and his wife, Debbie, were also awarded Rowlett’s first Texas Smart Yard award. Overall, Rob is committed to a sustainable lifestyle for ALL City of Rowlett residents!

Do you know a local hero?  Nominate them at Rowlett.com/Spirit by the third of each month. This is a great way to say “Thank you” to those who have encouraged, supported and acted in a way that has impacted you in your everyday life.  We look forward to hearing from you and to providing this recognition for good deeds, done well!
