October Spirit of Rowlett Award

Carissa Dutton

The City of Rowlett Neighborhood Life Office is excited to announce Carissa Dutton as the October recipient of the Spirit of Rowlett Award! This award is to publicly recognize ordinary residents doing extra-ordinary things in our community, and they’re nominated by YOU – the citizens of Rowlett.

Carissa was nominated by two Rowlett residents:

Kara McLeroy

"Carissa is what I call a 'get things done' kind of gal. She does anything for anybody, whether it's organizing an anti-bullying support ride with school districts and our local police departments, to toy and food drives for the needy during the holidays, to getting people together for last minute memorial vigil's when tragedy strikes our community. She is one of the kindest, loyal, and most gracious ladies I have ever had the privilege of knowing, and I am proud to call her a friend."

Randy Osterhoudt:

"Carissa has been a leader in her community for a great while. When the little boy recently passed away she was the one on crazy short notice put together the candlelight vigil. She's always willing to lend a hand and give her all for the community. She also heads the neighborhood watch for Kenwood Heights."

Do you know a local hero?  Nominate them at Rowlett.com/Spirit by the third of each month. This is a great way to say “Thank you” to those who have encouraged, supported and acted in a way that has impacted you in your everyday life.  We look forward to hearing from you and to providing this recognition for good deeds, done well!
