February Spirit of Rowlett Award - Wayne Baxter

The City of Rowlett Neighborhood Life Office is excited to announce Wayne Baxter as the February recipient of the Spirit of Rowlett Award! This award is to publicly recognize ordinary residents doing extra-ordinary things in our community, and they’re nominated by YOU – the citizens of Rowlett.

Wayne was nominated by Rowlett resident Larry Beckham, who says “Wayne is a longtime resident of Rowlett and has served as a City Councilmember.  He was on the Parks & Recreation Board for about 12 years and was the Chair for many of those. He was also key in the Kids Kingdom design and rebuild process and was a vocal proponent of voters approving the sale of liquor in Rowlett. Wayne continues to work closely with the staff and City Council to bring about a better Rowlett.”

We hope you enjoy this interview of Wayne by Councilmember Blake Margolis.
