Congratulations to Becky Sebastian, this month's Spirit of Rowlett Award winner! This award is to publicly recognize ordinary residents doing extra-ordinary things in our community, and the recipients are nominated by YOU – the citizens of Rowlett.
Ms. Sebastian’s nominator said “Becky has a rich history of service in our community. A 30-year resident of Rowlett, Becky served on the City Council for seven years, is a member of, and ambassador for, the Chamber of Commerce and she performs in almost all of the Amateur Community Theatre of Rowlett plays. Since 2000, she has recognized every Rowlett staff member every year on their birthday with a card. She deserves to be recognized for all of the special things she does!”
You may also know Becky as Mrs. Claus as she, along with her husband, Stewart (who many, many Rowlett children know as “Santa”), help our community usher in the holidays every year in the parade and at Main Street Fest.
We hope you enjoy this interview of Becky by Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Matt Grubisich.
Do you know a local hero? Nominate them today!. This is a great way to say “Thank you” to those who have encouraged, supported and acted in a way that has impacted you in your everyday life. We look forward to hearing from you and to providing this recognition for good deeds, done well!
