Congratulations to Barbara Holst, this month's Spirit of Rowlett Award winner! This award is to publicly recognize ordinary residents doing extra-ordinary things in our community, and the recipients are nominated by YOU – the citizens of Rowlett.
Nominated by Veda Kull, who says:
"Barbara has given a lot of time to make Rowlett a much better place to live. Currently she is President of Rowlett's Housing Finance Corporation and looking to help seniors, veterans and those who need help the most. For this purpose, she has traveled to Washington D.C. and Austin. She has served two terms on the Golf Advisory Board, has been through the Rowlett Citizens Academy, serves as Precinct Chair, spends many, many hours helping with elections and is a Volunteer Deputy Registrar, giving people an opportunity to register to vote. I'm sure there is more, but that should be enough for people to realize how much Barbara contributes to Rowlett during her "free" time!"
We hope you enjoy this interview of Barbara by Mayor Tammy Dana-Bashian!
Do you know a local hero? Nominate them today!. This is a great way to say “Thank you” to those who have encouraged, supported and acted in a way that has impacted you in your everyday life. We look forward to hearing from you and to providing this recognition for good deeds, done well!
