Donations benefit Life Message in Rowlett and Hope in Hands Food Pantry at First Christian Church.

The Citizen’s Police Academy begins August 26, registration is open now! Come learn more about the Rowlett Police Department’s operations during this fun and interactive 12-week course.
(This program is intended for citizens over the age of 18 who live or work in the City of Rowlett.)

If you are interested in attending the next "Chief Chat" - an event where you can openly talk to Chief Godfrey, please click on the sign-up genius link in the title. Meetings are limited to 25 residents, once signed up you will receive an email from the Chief with information, including the date and time for the next meeting. This will be first come, first served, but just because you do not make the next 25 does not mean you missed out. There will be a waitlist created for future meetings based on when you signed up.

Mosquito season is upon us! With all the rain we've received over the past month, mosquito populations are on the rise. Drop these Dunks into standing water around your home and do your part to control them.
2 FREE dunks are available (while supplies last) to Rowlett residents, just show a current utility bill or your ID at the Community Development offices, 5702 Rowlett Rd., Monday - Friday, 8a - 5pm.

Annual Concrete Repair and Maintenance of Streets and AlleysCam-Crete Contracting Inc. completed the pavement replacement in the right lane of Rowlett Road. They were delayed due to the inclement weather for the past week. Currently they have begun demolition of the center lane of Rowlett Road and plan to place conrete in this area next week.

Lake Highland TrailDespite all the weather delays experienced to date, the contractor was able to work a couple of days during this past week. Since the weather projections don’t include rain, the contractor is preparing to pour the mock panels for the City to approve. Once approved, the contractor plans to compact and test the soil, and then set forms in preparation to pour concrete.

Alley Reconstruction @ Faulkner - Thornhill - PowellKIK Underground has lowered the water main on Camelot Lane. They are staging storm water pipe on site and working on the storm line that connects to the storm water main on Camelot Lane

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Classes in AugustDuring a natural or man-made disaster, Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) assist Public Safety teams in doing damage assessment, accounting for residents and securing quick, accessible routes into their neighborhood. CERT members also help search for missing persons, and assist with evacuations, traffic control, courtesy patrols and with City events.
Rowlett CERT is actively recruiting residents to be trained in the CERT program that includes Disaster Medical Operations, Light Search and Rescue, and Fire Suppression following FEMA guidelines. CERT is holding a two-day class on Saturdays, August 7 & 14 from 8am to 6pm. Both days are required. A course fee of $20 covers class administrative expenses.
