Sapphire Bay Marina Announces Marina District/Baywalk Project

The announcement states...
"The district includes Sapphire Bay Marina, one of the largest in the state, which will include restaurants, a boardwalk, 1000+ slip marina, boat rental center and on-the-water boat brokerage. The highlight of the district will be a collection of casual waterfront food concepts called Baywalk. Baywalk will hug the lakefront, jutting out over the water at various points, and features a variety of seating for all seasons, entertainment areas, string lights and an assortment of plantings.

The project will also benefit from the $150MM TXDOT project to extend outer roads along I-30 from Bass Pro to Sapphire Bay and the construction of a new Sapphire Bay overpass that will include on- the-water driving lanes, walk and bike trails and a pedestrian and biking crossover bridge connecting both the North and South peninsulas.  With this connected system of trails, Baywalk will be easily accessible to those that love the outdoors."

Food Inspection Scores - What Do They Mean?

Following the Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER), your City of Rowlett Environmental Health staff conducts regular inspections of all Rowlett food establishments. These establishments earn a score based on the number of demerits accumulated out of the 100 weighted points, which summarize all health and sanitation regulations.  How are they scored? Each item on the inspection form carries a demerit value of 3, 2, or 1 point(s) based on the violation severity.  For example, a score of 91 could represent 3 violations at 3 demerits, or 3 violations at 2 demerits and 3 violations at 1 demerit. A score of 100 is the best possible score!
