Most events investigated by or reported to the Rowlett Police Department result in the creation of some type of written report. In general, reports are separated according to whether there was a criminal violation of some law or if there was some notable incident that justified written documentation. You may obtain a copy of a criminal offense report or an incident report by contacting the Rowlett Police Department Records Section in person at 4401 Rowlett Road. They are open 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Copies of offense reports are provided at the cost of 10 cents per page. Requests must include information to identify the report (i.e., the incident number), date and location of the offense or the complainant's name. You may also make a request by Email or
Accident Reports- State Crash Forms are used for accidents involving any type of injury and/or damages resulting in at least $1,000. State Crash Forms are kept by the Department of Public Safety in Austin. State Crash Reports cost $6.00 to obtain. If you are seeking a copy of a Texas State Crash Report, you may download, or request by mail, a copy of a crash report by referring to the eCrash website. You may also download and complete the request form (PDF) and bring it in person to the Rowlett Police Department Records Unit, anytime between 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, excluding holidays.
Offense and Incident supplemental stolen property reports may be obtained by downloading a copy online, contacting the Rowlett Police Department Records Section, in person at 4401 Rowlett Road, Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, or by mail. Fingerprinting is available to the general public on the following dates and times: Tuesday and Thursday, 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
The Texas Department of Transportation provides guidelines to the wrecker service companies regarding release of vehicles. This is not controlled by the City of Rowlett Police Department. To view the curent TxDOT regulations regarding vehicle storage facilities and vehicle releases please follow this link to the TxDot website. To obtain your vehicle, you must contact the appropriate wrecker storage company and pay the impound/storage fees accrued.
If your vehicle has been impounded as evidence in a criminal action, or a law enforcement HOLD has been placed on the vehicle, you should contact the City of Rowlett Police Department Criminal Investigation Division between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday.
