Lieutenant Steve Ferrie serves as the Support Services Commander. He began his career in law enforcement on April 6, 1989 as a Communications Officer for the Rowlett Police Department. In 1991 he was assigned to the position of Police Officer. Lieutenant Ferrie was promoted to Lieutenant on February 3, 2000.
Steve Ferrie is also the unit commander of the Special Weapons and Tactics Unit (SWAT), and a TCOLE certified instructor, providing training in Police Emergency Driving.
Lieutenant Ferrie is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Class #238, the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration (ILEA) School of Police Supervision, and the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) Leadership and Command College, Class #41. Lieutenant Ferrie also holds a Master Peace Officer License from TCOLE.
